We were all saddened to learn of the passing of our friend and fellow teacher Elsie Laurens on December 31, 2010. Her cheerful personality and smiling face will be missed by many.

770-381-5722Elsie Yeager Hardy Tomlinson Laurens, 84, of Duluth, Georgia, was welcomed
with celebration into her Lord's presence on December 31, 2010. She was an Atlanta native who graduated from Commercial High School. She received her bachelors and masters degrees in business education from Georgia State University and taught at Columbia High School in DeKalb County. She was a long time resident of High Point, NC, and Skylake in Sautee, GA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Hardy, her daughter Julie Beth Hardy, and her second husband Sidney Halstead Tomlinson, Jr. She is survived by her present husband, the Reverend Richard G. "Dick" Laurens; two daughters Lisa H. Bachelor (Gerald) and Lynne C. Hardy (Paula Musselman); two granddaughters Ansley B. Acuff (Jeremy) and Allison B. Snell (Travis). two great grandsons; one niece; three nephews; cousins; and the Laurens family. The family will receive visitors on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Horis A. Ward Stone Mountain Chapel from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon The funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
